Privacy Policy
In short: no cookies, no tracking, no analytics.
1. Controller
Andreas Bica, Bavaria / Germany – Email: mail [at] bushfire.app
2. Hosting and server logs
When you visit this website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and operating system) to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is deleted after a short period.
3. No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. The only exception is the anonymous download count (see section 4). Fonts and all graphics are served from our own server – no connection to Google Fonts or other CDNs.
4. Download page and download count
The download page (bushfire-app.de/download/) counts downloads on the server – without cookies and without third-party scripts. To do so, our server sends a shortened IP address (for IPv4 the last block is set to 0, for IPv6 only the first 48 bits are kept) and the macOS version from your browser’s user agent to our statistics server (bushfire.services). This only produces anonymous statistics, such as country and macOS version, that cannot be linked to a person. The file Bushfire.dmg is also delivered by bushfire.services. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in simple download statistics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. YouTube videos
Videos on the support page only load after you click “Play video”. Only then is a connection made to YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.) in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
6. External links
Links to GitHub, Discord, PayPal and others lead to their websites, where their privacy policies apply. Merely visiting this site transmits no data to them.
7. The Bushfire app
Bushfire does not store or analyse personal data. Only two anonymous numbers are transmitted: the number of deleted objects and the deleted data size in bytes.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
The German version of this policy is legally binding.
